Mars Wrigley delivers 329k Easter treats to The Bread and Butter Thing

Easter came early today as the Bread and Butter Thing received 329k chocolate goodies as part of Mars Wrigley's pledge to send 1m 'tokens of gratitude' to the UK's hardworking NHS, keyworkers and communities across the UK.

These chocolate treats will now be making their way across the north of England as the TBBT Easter Bunny hops to all 29 hubs plus projects and partners from Lancaster to Darlington. As well as serving TBBT's own 8000 members, northern partners Eggcup, FareShare, Food Cycle and Open Kitchen Manchester, will receive stock to distribute alongside several smaller food banks and community groups.

Mark Game, CEO TBBT said: "We're going to need a lot of Easter Bunnies to help share out Mars Wrigley's incredibly generous donation. At The Bread and Butter Thing we're enormously proud of our ethos of bringing together our communities and industry partners to make sure that donations such as this one can reach the widest possible number of people. Which is why we're teaming up with the likes of Eggcup in Lancaster, Open Kitchen in Manchester and the Borough Council in Darlington to ensure that all of the individuals and families we support can share Mars' token of gratitude - especially our NHS and key worker members."
