Trafford-based The Bread and Butter Thing receives £3,000 donation to fund Big Brew Time campaign to combat loneliness
The team at Trafford’s The Bread and Butter Thing is celebrating after receiving £3,000 to launch its new campaign, The Big Brew Time which aims to combat social isolation and build new friendships.
Warrington-based urban logistics developer and asset manager Chancerygate, construction contractor Stainforth Construction and investment firm Northwood Investors have made the donation. The three companies are currently working together to deliver the 130,340 sq ft Bridgewater Point urban logistics development at Trafford Park.
The donation will help fund The Big Brew Time kits including mugs, water flasks and milk, tea and coffee for community hubs without facilities. It will also enable hubs to put the heating on to ensure people struggling to pay energy bills to come in from the winter cold and feel warm.
The Bread and Butter Thing is headquartered at Littlers Point, just over one mile away from the Bridgewater Point development.
Commenting on the donation, CEO of The Bread and Butter Thing, Mark Game said: “We were really grateful to receive this fantastic donation, which will help us bring the community together, allowing for friends and neighbours to catch up.
“Through our efforts, we aim to combat social isolation, build new friendships and provide a warm welcoming space, in both spirit and temperature, for people to congregate.”
